Virgin Active
21 with a pool
Premium health club
The broadest pool coverage in London by a distance — most sites are full
health clubs with a pool, sauna and spa rather than gyms with a pool
bolted on. The free-weights areas are good rather than hardcore; you're
paying for the amenities as much as the iron. Best pick if you want to
swim and steam as often as you lift.

Third Space

Luxury
The one to beat if you want a serious lifting gym wrapped in a spa.
Every confirmed site has both a pool and a sauna, the kit is immaculate,
and unlike most premium clubs the free-weight floors are genuinely
excellent. Priced accordingly, and day passes are rare and expensive.

What this list does and doesn't cover
These are the London pools we've confirmed at the major private clubs.
It is not every pool in London — council-run leisure centres have
the majority of the city's lane swimming and cost a fraction of a
private membership, and a handful of other premium clubs have pools we
haven't confirmed branch by branch yet. We only list a pool once we've
confirmed it for that specific site rather than assuming it from the
brand.
Compiled from the operators' published information and last checked on
3 August 2026. Facilities close for refurbishment and membership tiers
change — check with the club before you join on the strength of a pool.
Common questions
Do budget gyms in London have pools?
Essentially none. PureGym, The Gym Group and Anytime Fitness are
weights-and-cardio only. In London a pool means either a premium
health club like Virgin Active or Third Space, or a council-run
leisure centre.
What does a London gym with a pool cost?
Expect £70 a month and up, and well beyond that in central London.
Pools are expensive to run, so they only appear at the premium end.
Council leisure centres are far cheaper if you mainly want lane
swimming.
Are these gyms any good for serious lifting?
Third Space is the standout — genuinely strong free-weights floors
alongside the spa facilities. Virgin Active's weights areas are good
rather than hardcore; you're paying for the amenities as much as the
iron.
Know a pool we've missed?
Lightweight maps 18,000+ gyms worldwide and lets lifters confirm or
correct what's actually at each one — equipment, facilities, opening
hours. Every workout ties to the gym it happened in, so your training
history and the map improve together.
